Battlebuds!

a card game i've been working on in my spare time for way too long!

how does it work??

I barely know! Here's what I can tell you: it draws inspiration from tabletop games like DnD (specifically saving throws and such) and melds it with fast-paced, cartoonish deckbuilding!

wow! that sounds stupid!

thank you, i know! here's a picture from the game!

This is Phillipe! He is an amateur chef who makes a decent quiche, but nothing near the quality of his professional chef wife's stew.
Is wife the right term? They're sort of, uh, separated? He says he doesn't like to talk about it, but it's painfully obvious he wants to talk about it.

He didn't always look like this, though. Here's what he used to look like!

Yuck, right? Not nearly as good. I haven't looked at the old cards in a while, I didn't realize how chunky they look now. I've been working on this for kind of a while. Hopefully it will come out one day.

In the meantime, here's some other wacky characters!

This is Solomon!

This is Bernie!

This is Zelda!

This is Sheila! Her promo shot looks different from all of these other losers because I did it first! I've been trying to refine this vector art for months now, but you know how it is!

You get the gist. Essentially, you collect these little rascals (up to three at a time) and they give you all sorts of boosts and buffs (namely Attack, Defense, and Morale) that help you in different ways. Then you and a bunch of other players compete going to something called the "Quest Grid" (basically nine cards lined up in the middle of the table) looking to fight Monsters and get points and stuff. It's kind of neat!
